Distance Mover - Patrick Kyle

This comic book is so cool, if only for the visual delight. However, the plot is also charming.

This book follows the main character, Mr. Earth, as he explores the planet in his Distance Mover, a sort of vehicle that does exactly what the name claims: it moves distance! And, from the title, one can tell that this entire book has a certain odd feel, deliberately crafted to make the reader feel like they have been dropped into an alien world. As Mr. Earth explores the planet, we encounter a variety of progressively stranger and stranger characters, each of which teaches us a bit more about the world. Slowly but surely, a horrifying plot is revealed, and it's up to Mr. Earth to confront it, while also managing his unfortunate sidekick Mendel, who has been inadvertently towed along for the ride.

I don't think this book is any sort of commentary or anything, or contains any astounding revelations. It's just really weird and cute, with a satisfying and wild flow. Enjoy it as the art that it is.
